The Age Advantage: How Multigenerational Workplaces Are Powering Success

Commerce Ballarat, alongside the City of Ballarat Ageing Well and Youth Services teams, invites everyone of all ages to explore workforce challenges across generations while celebrating the strengths that make us stronger together.

Hear from Age Discrimination Commissioner Robert Fitzgerald, followed by a panel discussion facilitated by Ellen Jackson on the future of work with:

  • Declan Davidson, Youth Advocate Golden Plains Shire Youth Mayor

 

  • Stephane Forsyth, Ballarat City Council

 

  • Ai Krygsman, The Y Ballarat, Aleida currently works in the enrolments team at Y Ballarat, supporting families through the kindergarten enrolment process. She also has a strong background in hospitality and customer service, and has worked with people across varying age groups. Throughout her career, Aleida has gained an appreciation for the different perspectives and experiences people bring to the workplace. She is looking forward to sharing her perspective on working in a multigenerational organisation.

 

  • Simon Coghlan, who has 30 plus years of experience in a broad range of hospitality venues.  Having owned and operated restaurants, bars, hotels and pubs Simon’s experience in concept design and development as well as operational planning and oversight has built a significant list of successful venues.

 

  • Sam Retelj, with more than 20 years of experience in human resources and executive leadership across the retail, not-for-profit, manufacturing, and health sectors in Ballarat, Melbourne, and Scotland. As CEO of Ballarat Group Practice, she is passionate about change management, mentoring, and coaching, with a proven ability to lead teams through transformation and develop emerging leaders.

 

  • Dominic Dunne, is a CPA and registered Tax Agent, and a Director of Shaddock and Co Accountants as well as Central Victorian Investments Pty Ltd. As an employer and small business owner, he has spent his career working closely with businesses and superannuation clients, helping them navigate complex taxation, compliance, and financial matters.
