This morning, the Victorian Government announced plans to enshrine Work From Home arrangements in legislation. This is damaging to the autonomy of small enterprises, which make up 97% of Victoria’s businesses, and ignores the fact flexible arrangements already exist between many employees and employers across the state, where it is possible to do so. The government is overlooking systemic issues to address areas that are non-urgent and counter-productive. These changes also come on top of the new levy. Our businesses need government support not hindrance. They are stressed and exhausted after year on year of challenges.

Our CEO, in her capacity as Chair of the Victorian Regional Chamber Alliance, released a statement to amplify the regional view on these proposed law changes and the lack of benefit they include. Read the full statement here
