WorkSafe’s HSR Support team has received questions from HSRs about workplace incidents and what constitutes a notifiable incident. Under Victorian OHS laws, employers are required to notify WorkSafe about fatalities, serious injuries and certain health and safety incidents in a workplace. These are known as ‘notifiable incidents’. Employers have a duty to notify WorkSafe when they become aware of an incident. Incidents should be reported to WorkSafe Advisory by calling 132 360. The employer must make a copy of the notifiable incident record available for inspection by a HSR if an incident relates to any members of their DWG. You can read more here.
