The City of Ballarat has welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement of $2 billion in essential infrastructure funding in the 2026–27 Federal Budget.

The announcement provides a funding opportunity for the Housing and Growth Enabling Infrastructure Package outlined in the Ballarat. Now and Into the Future – Enabling Growth campaign, supported by eight local organisations.

The City of Ballarat also welcomed an additional $750 million for new rounds of the Thriving Suburbs and Growing Regions Fund programs, which support vital community infrastructure such as libraries, parks, community centres, and sporting and cultural facilities.
