The Haymarket

For more than 80 years, The Haymarket has been a locally owned and operated company in Ballarat. Greg, Ian, Philip, and Robert Taylor continue to run the family business. Proudly employing over thirty staff, we support many community events and clubs throughout the Ballarat region.

Originally trading as the Hancock Company, the business first began in 1943 and was located in Armstrong Street, opposite the new Government Hub site. We are now located at 112 Market Street on the corner of Doveton St Ballarat, as well as having a second outlet at 902 La Trobe Street Delacombe and the family farm at Camperdown-Lismore Road Lismore provides grain and hay for our produce department.

From December 1, 2025, all Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training in Victoria will include a mandatory new module focused on preventing and responding to sexual harassment and assault in licensed venues. If you’re looking to get your RSA certificate in Victoria or renew your existing certification, head here for everything you need to know about the new requirements and how the process works.
