New Commonwealth laws apply to the intentional underpayment of wages and other entitlements. Intentionally underpaying an employee can now be a criminal offence. These new laws and the implications of failure to comply are laid out here by the Fair Work Ombudsman. It is important to ensure your staff are being paid intentionally, and it is equally critical to understand the consequences of avoiding this.
