Course Delivery, Format and Participant Requirements

  • Delivery Mode: This course is delivered face-to-face, ensuring a personal and interactive learning experience.
  • Format: The Standard Mental Health First Aid® training course can be delivered over 2-days (2 x 6-hours sessions) OR 4-days (4 x 3-hour sessions).
  • Group Size: To maintain quality and ensure individual attention, we cater to groups ranging from 6 (minimum) to 24 (maximum) participants.
  • Age Requirement: Participants must be 18 years or older to attend.
  • In-house Training: For workplaces, businesses, and organisations aiming to elevate their team's mental health capabilities, we offer the convenience of arranging the Standard Mental Health First Aid® course to be conducted on-site at your workplace. This tailored approach allows groups of staff to undergo training together, fostering a unified approach to mental health support within the business or organisation.
  • Public Courses: Commerce Ballarat offers the Standard Mental Health First Aid® course throughout the year, perfect for individuals or small groups seeking to enhance their mental health support skills. This flexible option allows you to register and participate during quieter periods at work, minimising disruption to your business. Designed for convenience, the course is spread over a 4-week period, ensuring you can gain valuable knowledge and skills without taking too much time away from your professional responsibilities.

 

Certification and Accreditation

Upon successfully completing the course and a brief assessment, participants will earn the title of Accredited Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider®). This accreditation is valid for 3 years, endorsing your ability to provide initial mental health support.
