CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL ORGANISER IN CHRONIC DISORGANISATION 16 October 2019

Congratulations to Sue Ryan our member from Organised by Sue from recently graduating as a Certified Professional Organizer in Chronic Disorganization (CPO-CD®). These credentials are awarded to a professional organizer who has been educated in depth on the issues of chronic disorganization. The CPO-CD® program is for intermediate and advanced professional organizers who are looking to develop their skills, techniques and knowledge that can be applied in a practical way when working with clients who are affected by chronic disorganization. Hop Temple are holding the second annual Hopathon on November 9th! What is it you ask? It's a 0.6KM Fun Run for the rest of us.... And no you don't have to hop. Have you always wanted to say you've completed a fun run, but it's hard when your training schedule consists of brews and food? Then the Hopathon is for you, a 600m run around the Hop block where you'll get a T-Shirt, headband, pint of beer and completion medal to show off to all your family. The event is proudly supporting the Special Care Nursery. CITY OF BALLARAT IMPACT GRANT PROGRAM 2019

Applications are now open for round two of the City of Ballarat's Community Impact Grant Program 2019/20. The program gives community groups the opportunity to apply for funding for projects, equipment upgrades, neighbourhood-based community events, or an idea that needs some start-up funding to become a reality. The Ballarat is Open (BiO) project is about better understanding what our various brands and identities are throughout the city as well as looking more broadly at how the city ticks, what drives its growth, how we present the city to others, and how a greater number of our businesses and residents can share in the prosperity that a rapidly growing regional city brings. MAIR STREET UPGRADE

Mair Street is a high-volume, important corridor connecting local businesses, retailers and schools in the area. Improvements to Mair Street will improve safety, ease traffic congestion and promote the corridor as a main road through the CBD. Stage 1 improvements between Victoria Street and Davies St, are currently under construction, tools go down on this from December 1 2019 until January 12 2020 so that works don't impact Christmas shopping on Mair Street. SafeTALK SUICIDE PREVENTION WORKSHOPS

Throughout October Commerce Ballarat are partnering with the Ballarat and District Suicide Prevention Network to provide our business community with safeTALK workshops. We have many people asking us what they can do to help reduce suicide in our community, so this is how you can! The Suicide Prevention Network funds suicide prevention training that is delivered by Lifeline Ballarat, so that you can participate at no cost and maybe save a life? This is how you can help the community to make a difference. safeTALK workshops empower participants to recognise invitations for help and give the gift of life through proven intervention methods. safeTALK stresses safety while challenging beliefs that inhibit open conversation about suicide. We are excited to share with you that we are working on a project with Federation Business School to evaluate business conditions in the Ballarat region.
