VICTORIAN TOURISM HITS NEW MILESTONE

The value of Victoria's burgeoning visitor economy has soared to $30 billion, cementing tourism as a key driver of the state's economy and a jobs powerhouse. New figures released by Tourism Research Australia show Victoria welcomed 90.6 million international and domestic visitors who spent $30 billion in the year to March ­– growth of 11.2 per cent and 10.3 per cent respectively. RED TAPE REFORMS TO CUT CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS COSTS

Small construction businesses will save up to $42.6 million a year through reforms that will make it easier for owners to understand and meet their regulatory obligations. The reforms announced today at the Master Builders Victoria's Building Leadership Simulation Centre are expected to save small businesses at least $21.3 million a year once fully implemented. TRACE TENSIONS REMIND US OF THE NEED TO BUILD OUR COMPETITIVE MUSCLE

The recent pause in tariff hikes between the US and China is welcome. But ongoing trade tensions between our most important strategic partner and our most important trading partner mean this is a crucial time for sensible reform to boost the competitiveness of Australian businesses. Notwithstanding the decision to delay implementation for some items until December, the United States recently announced an additional $300 billion in tariffs on imported Chinese goods. Ballarat Golf Club have won the Inclusion Award at the Victorian Golf Industry Awards at the Arts Centre in Melbourne last week. A joint initiative between the PGA, Golf Australia - Victoria and Golf Management Victoria, the evening was a celebration of the people and organisations that have made significant achievements and contributions to the sport, as well as being a general celebration of Victorian golf. The Inclusion Initiative of the Year Award is designed to recognise clubs, individuals or organisations who take significant steps to attract, welcome or include people with a disability, cultural or diverse backgrounds or indigenous communities into their club activities. BALLARAT CLASH SOLD OUT 21 August 2019

The Western Bulldogs' Round 23 clash with the Adelaide Crows at Mars Stadium this Sunday has officially sold out. Due to high demand, and the capacity of Mars Stadium, no further tickets will be released for sale and no general admission membership scans or public tickets will be available on match-day. The Bulldogs v Crows clash will be shown live on Fox Footy, with the first bounce at 1.10pm.
