Mair Street is a high-volume, important corridor connecting local businesses, retailers and schools in the area. Improvements to Mair Street will improve safety, ease traffic congestion and promote the corridor as a main road through the CBD. Stage 1 improvements between Victoria Street and Davies St, are currently under construction, tools go down on this from December 1 2019 until January 12 2020 so that works don't impact Christmas shopping on Mair Street. We have many people asking us what they can do to help reduce suicide in our community, so this is how you can! The Suicide Prevention Network funds suicide prevention training that is delivered by Lifeline Ballarat, so that you can participate at no cost and maybe save a life? This is how you can help the community to make a difference. safeTALK workshops empower participants to recognise invitations for help and give the gift of life through proven intervention methods. safeTALK stresses safety while challenging beliefs that inhibit open conversation about suicide.
