Ballarat's Biggest Ever Blokes' Lunch

The inaugural Ballarat's Biggest Ever Blokes' Lunch was held in 2011 and has been hitting its capacity of 520 every year since and raising in excess of $350,000 for men’s health initiatives. That’s over 4,000 men taking responsibility for their own health.

The event is an occasion for men to socialise and relax all while learning about the importance of taking responsibility of their health. Balanced with entertainment from some of the nation’s most colourful sporting identities including; Kevin Sheedy, Brendan Fevola, Cameron Mooney and Rodney Hogg.

Over the last eight years, the lunch has raised over $350,000 that have supported men’s health on a national and local level. The Committee see supporting community initiatives as a way to directly engage with its attendees, local charities and initiatives that have been supported are;

o Ballarat YMCA; allowing 20 males to enrol in their men’s health and fitness program

o Ballarat Suicide Prevention Network; the cash injection was used to increase its public profile and engagement with the community

o Shower Bus; covered the cost to fit out a bus providing showers and hygiene services for homeless

o Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre; sponsorship of the local prostate cancer nurse and initiatives

The 2019 Ballarat's Biggest Ever Blokes' Lunch will be held on Friday, September 6 at the Mercure Hotel and Convention Centre, Ballarat. Tickets go on sale May 1.
