Don competed in the Sydney 2000 Paralympics Games where he won bronze in the Pentathlon. In pursuit of his ultimate goal of being number one in the World in the below knee amputee Pentathlon Don moved a step closer when he finished with a Silver medal at the 2002 IPC World Championships. 2004 Athens Paralympics Games Don became a triple Paralympics medallist winning one Silver and two Bronze. As a respected voice on sport both on and off the track Don commentated at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and appeared on Andrew Denton’s ABC TV show Enough Rope. An Inspirational Speaker!! Ballarat Brides wedding expo was held at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Convention Centre last Sunday. Late night liquor licence applications would need the approval of Ballarat City Council, if a new proposal is approved by councillors. Liquor licences are issued by the state liquor licensing commission, but applications for new licences are referred to the local council and the police. Date: Wednesday 3 February The new Global Skills for Provincial Victoria program is run through the State Government’s Department of Industry Innovation and Regional Development. The scheme aims to link migrants to specific job vacancies in regional areas. In Ballarat, the program is run by Ballarat City Council, and aims to fill 20 skilled positions in the city each year.
