Boral Resources

Boral Resources are one of the main sponsor's for The Mountain of Fun Run to be held on Sunday the 15th of March in Dunnstown and around (and up!) Mount Warrenheip.  There are two courses – a 12.km run/walk and a 6km run/walk.

Proceeds from the event will support Dunnstown’s Saint Brendan’s Primary School, and CanTeen – The Australian Organisation for Young People Living With Cancer.

The Australian Government

The Australian Government is holding public information sessions throughout regional Australia on 26 February about its Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme.

 

You are invited to attend the following free session at North Ballarat Sports Club, 26 February from 1pm.

Councillor fund freeze ahead of guidelines.  A temporary freeze has been placed on spending from Ballarat City councillors’ $20,000 discretionary funds as recommended from the Audit Advisory Committee.

Land purchase secures bright future for school. Ballarat Grammar is looking to the future with the purchase of about 50 hectares on the south side of Mt Rowan which could one day be turned into another campus of the school. “In the long term, in 50 years or so, it will all be surrounded by houses and there’s going to be a need for more schools in Ballarat: said Head Master Stephen Higgs.  The property will be used by the school immediately for its agriculture and horticulture program.

Selfish attack on McCallum. About $2600 worth of new appliances have been stolen from disability support organisation McCallum.  The thefts occurred at the organisation’s Leopold St complex where seven supported accommodation units are under construction for 14 peoples.
