Are you doing Business Online or Keen to get your business online?
Commerce Ballarat and The University of Ballarat Technology Park are thrilled to bring Paul Greenberg to Ballarat. Paul and partner Michael Rosenbaum established online retailer Deals Direct now a $200 million enterprise shipping tens of thousands of parcels from its Sydney warehouse daily.
Emigrating to Australia from South Africa in the late 1990's, Paul arrived with a strong desire to build an online business - but with no capital and a young family, Paul initially pursued an alliance with Ebay. Believing there was a business opportunity in immediate buy it now sales and quick distribution, Paul branched out in 2004, and DealsDirect.com.au was born.
Passionate about Australian retailing, Paul believes any business that does not have some form of online presence and capability is being disadvantaged in the global market place. Increasingly, Paul is focussing on the opportunities available to broader Australian retail in the new economy, and how technology will enhance the opportunity, not diminish it.
Paul will cover getting started in the online world and elaborate on how to stay ahead of the challenges it presents. He will offer ideas, experiences and practical tips on how to take advantage of a web presence. Paul will discuss his two mantras, doing business online involves having a go, failing quickly, cheaply and early and the risk of inactivity in the new economy is greater than the risk of activity.
