The 30th January 2012 saw the introduction of the Personal Property Securities Act 2009. The act brings with it new definitions and concepts and represents a marked change in the type of assets which can be secured and the way in which those assets are secured. It appears that a significant amount of businesses are not aware of the act, understand it's application and appreciate the effect it will have on the way business will be conducted in the future. In particular, businesses need to be aware of what assets now require registration and the ramifications if not properly protected. It is appropriate to look at:

What is the ramification of not being properly registered;
